Spartan Athletes of the Week: Story Rogers and Wyatt Levine

Spartan Athletes of the Week: Story Rogers and Wyatt Levine

Congratulations to Story Rogers ‘28 and Wyatt Levine ‘27 for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

Story Rogers and the Varsity Field Hockey team competed in the Gateway Classic in St. Louis, Missouri, last weekend. Rogers, who played nearly every minute of each game, helped her team go 2-1 in Pool B, defeating Lake Forest High School and Huntington Beach High School. She held down the post on defensive penalty corners and served the team as a primary hitter on attacking penalty corners.

“Story has put in a ton of work in the off-season, and it’s evident by her confidence on the ball,” remarked Field Hockey Program Head Chelsea Richards. “She dominated the backfield with well-timed tackles and was the start of our team attack, often controlling the tempo and pace of the game.”

Story and her Varsity Field Hockey teammates will take on cross-town rivals, St. Andrew’s, on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:30 p.m. on Phipps Field.

Wyatt Levine ignited the Spartans with relentless defensive play, racking up tackles for loss, dropping the quarterback for a sack, and recording a pick-six in front of the packed stands at Denius Stadium to help Spartan Varsity Football earn a dominant win over the McDade Bulldogs on Friday.

“Wyatt set the tone of our game with his early pick-six,” commented Head Football Coach Jay Patterson. “He was ready to capitalize, and that energy was contagious with his teammates on the field.”

Spartan Varsity Football heads to Snook High School on Friday, September 5, in Somerville, Texas, to battle the Bluejays!
