Spartan Athletes of the Week: Pranav Kandhaadai and Hannah Krauss

Spartan Athletes of the Week: Pranav Kandhaadai and Hannah Krauss

Congratulations to Pranav Kandhaadai and Hannah Krauss for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

Pranav Kandhaadai ’26 had an excellent weekend of tennis at the SPC 4A Championships in Houston. Competing at line one singles, he earned a 2-1 record in his individual matches to help the team finish 4th in a competitive division. In his first match against Greenhill, Kandhaadai took down his opponent in two sets, 6-1 and 6-0. In the semifinal match against St. John’s, he dropped the first set in a tiebreak, 6-7, and narrowly lost the second, 4-6. In Saturday’s match against Kinkaid, Kandhaadai rallied after losing the first set, 3-6, to win the second set, 6-1. In the 10-point tiebreak, he came out on top, 10-3.

“As a senior, Pranav has shown great leadership - this season and over the last four years,” said Varsity Tennis Head Coach Bob Haugen. “He has done whatever his coaches have asked of him in practice and during match play to help the team achieve their goals. He’s going to be a real asset at Rose-Hulman next year!”

Hannah Krauss ’26 dominated the crease last weekend as the team competed in the Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League Super-Regionals in Friendswood, Texas. She’s been a selfless leader in goal for the Spartans all season. On Sunday against St. Francis, Krauss racked up 12 saves to help her team earn the 12-10 victory to advance to the state semifinals this weekend!

“Hannah is the backbone of our defense, and her performance in Sunday’s Super-Regional game was nothing short of elite,” said Girls Lacrosse Program Head Emily Walling. “Beyond the stats, her composure in the crease gives our entire team the confidence to play aggressively. We wouldn't be heading to the state semifinals without her anchoring the field.”

Girls Varsity Lacrosse takes on Flower Mound in the TGHSLL State Semifinal on Saturday at 1 pm at the Episcopal School of Dallas.
