Spartan Athletes of the Week: Addison Tallas and Cole Davenport

Congratulations to Cole Davenport and Addison Tallas for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

Addison Tallas ’27 has been a force for the Girls Varsity Soccer program this winter. As a dynamic, all-around player, Tallas is capable of making critical contributions from a number of different positions. She wins tackles and manages possession in the center of midfield while also creating scoring opportunities. In the last two games, Tallas had added three goals to the scoresheet for the Spartans to kick off the team’s conference competition.

“In addition to being a talented player, Addison is a tremendously hard worker who puts in hours of individual training outside of her team practices,” said Girls Soccer Head Coach Andy Aceves. “Her efforts have certainly paid off, and we’re super lucky to have her in our program.”

After the team’s roadtrip this weekend, you can catch Tallas and her teammates at their next home game as they take on Greenhill on Friday, January 23.

Cole Davenport '28 has had an impressive season for the Boys Varsity Basketball team, helping his squad to a 13-7 record and a 2-0 conference start. Most impressively, Davenport recorded back-to-back double-doubles over the weekend to secure the undefeated conference start. Against Trinity Valley on Friday, Davenport had 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and on Saturday, he added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists in the team’s win over Fort Worth Country Day School.

“Cole was excellent in our first conference games this year,” said Boys Basketball Head Coach Christian Spencer. “He has been playing with a competitive fire lately that ignites the entire team. I very proud of how he has grown throughout the course of this season.”

Davenport and his teammates are on the road this weekend for conference games in Dallas/Fort Worth, but the Spartans will return to take on Greenhill on Friday, January 23.
