The Fitness Center boasts 3500 square feet of safe strength and conditioning space.  Goal to provide targeted training for all students, faculty, and staff from the beginner to elite athlete.

    Free weights, TRX, Calisthenic stations (monkey bars and climbing ropes), Treadmills, Stationary and spin bikes, Rowing machines, Jump training equipment, Versaclimbers, Open-air artificial turf space for agility training purposes accessible through large bay area doors, Floor and mat space for core, dynamic, and mobility exercises

    The Sports Medicine Athletic Training Facility is a professional healthcare setting that enables athletes to engage in supervised prevention and rehabilitation programs. Athletic trainers are allied healthcare professionals who practice to ensure the safety of all student-athletes. We coordinate medical care and return to school and sport with the health center, outside providers and the learning specialist.  We are a relaxing place for the traditional athlete as well as the dancer, theater kid, mountain biker or rock climber to treat injuries, grab an apple, or enjoy a few moments of chill time while stretching and foam rolling before or after practice.

    Hours of Operation:
    Generally 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm with morning hours by appointment. 
    Onsite game coverage for all home events, SPC end of season tournaments and trips as needed.
    Visiting Team Information
    SSES provides water, bottles, and injury ice on the sideline for all Middle School and Upper School visiting teams.
    We will evaluate and treat all visiting player injuries as appropriate and communicate with the appropriate coach and/or parent.

    Clayton Gym and Middle School Gym

    Clayton Gym is home to the Spartan volleyball and basketball programs and can be manipulated to accommodate five regulation volleyball courts or two full-size basketball courts. Retractable risers allow for spectator seating along one wall of the gym. Clayton gym is also home to the varsity girls locker room, dance studio and concession stand. The middle school gym can accommodate up to three volleyball courts and one full-size basketball court as well as the middle school locker rooms.

    Athletic Fields

    The following three full-sized playing fields are available for field sports including field hockey, football, soccer or lacrosse: Meredith Field, Denius Stadium, and Phipps Field. In addition, a premium-grade track serves our cross country and track & field athletes, and Foster Field provides a space for baseball teams to train and host games.

    Pool

    Home to the Spartans swim program as well as PE classes and residential activities, the pool on campus features six lanes and a timing system to allow St. Stephen’s to host meets during swim season. Naturally landscaped and renovated in 2017, the pool deck and surrounding walkways allow spectators space to relax and cheer on the Spartans.

    Tennis Center

    The Tennis Center, home to the Tennis Academy, boasts a professional-class facility including twelve hard courts, two clay courts, a clubhouse, and pro shop nestled in the natural hill country landscape of campus.

    Outdoor Education

    The Devil’s Canyon Wilderness Program (DCWP) takes full advantage of the more than 370 acres of natural beauty that comprises the St. Stephen’s campus. Surrounding central campus, miles of trails for hiking, running and biking vary in elevation by nearly 400 feet. A strawbale house provides storage for DCWP’s adventure equipment including canoes, mountain bikes, climbing harnesses and ropes.
