Join fellow Spartans for an informative and thought-provoking conversation about the value and direction of affinity groups at St. Stephen’s. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is at the core of our mission, and affinity groups are one way the school lives into this mission. Yvonne Adams, Director of Diversity and Inclusion will provide an overview of the purpose and importance of affinity groups, and facilitate a round table discussion featuring LGBTQ, African-American, Latino, and International panelists from the alumni community. Our round table panelists include Rudy Green ‘71, Emily Hummel ‘86, Bryan Rangel ‘19, Claire Fenton Simmonds ‘93, Yasmine Smith ‘12, Jennifer Sturley ‘13 and John Williams ‘74.
The round table discussion will be followed by break-out sessions led by professionals who are experienced in leading affinity groups. Our break-out session leaders are:
- African-American/people of color - Virginia Cumberbatch ‘06
- LGBTQ+ - Virginia Talley ‘97
- White fragility - Caitlin Sweetlamb and Greg Bonetti
