Spartans Host Marbridge for Flag Football
St. Stephen's hosted the flag football team from Marbridge House, an Austin group home for mentally challenged adults on August 13th. The Marbridge players ranged in age from early 20's to 58, and they arrived with their coach and Marbridge House staff, full of enthusiasm and ready to play.
The boys ran them through some warm up drills before breaking up into two games of touch football. After some energetic sweaty play, all the boys enjoyed some strawberry Jim Jim's Water-Ice generously donated by Jim Jim's @ 615 E 6th St.
Dana with Marbridge reports, "Your boys were gracious, welcoming and helpful, and made all the fans proud! I was happy to hear that our Marbridge House guests are looking forward to attending a home game in the coming season and supporting their new St Stephens friends."
