MS Celebrates Diwali, Hindu Festival of Lights
On Oct. 22, Middle School students and faculty gathered in the St. Stephen’s dining hall to celebrate Diwali, the ancient Hindu “festival of lights” and a modern holiday in India. This annual fall festival signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
Organized by Middle School parents, this year's Diwali festival included a slideshow presentation about the history and traditions of Diwali, a special meal of traditional Indian foods and treats, and a flash mob Bollywood dance that had the entire Middle School on its feet. A big thank you to everyone involved in this outstanding program!
