Astronomical Society's Summer Under the Stars Event

St. Stephen’s Episcopal School will host Austin Astronomical Society’s annual Summer Under the Stars event on July 25.

For the 15th consecutive year, St. Stephen’s and the Astronomical Society welcome astronomy enthusiasts to an exciting free guided tour of the summer night sky. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate proper use of the more than 20 large telescopes that will be available for public use at the event.

With three planets — Jupiter, Venus and Saturn — positioned for easy viewing and the close approach of Pluto in mid-July, Summer Under the Stars is sure to be an exciting event for astronomy buffs across Austin.

The public is invited to participate in this free program, which will be held on Phipps Field on the St. Stephen’s campus at 6500 St. Stephen’s Drive, from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 25. For more information, contact Frank Mikan, St. Stephen’s science department chair, at 512-327-1213 or fmikan@sstx.org.
