Evan Butt's '07 band responded to a casting call and found themselves in a trailer on the set of a movie, rubbing elbows with Hollywood stars. In their 2007 yearbook, Evan Butts and Aaron Moten were deemed to be "Most Likely to be Famous."

A group of alumni honored David Paschall as he retired from St. Stephen's after 36 years.

Ambassador Hector Morales


The Student Government and the Alumni Office are pleased to present Ambassador Hector E. Morales Jr. ' 81, who will be coming to speak in Chapel as part of the Mind, Body, and Spirit Program on Monday, May 4, from 9:00 am - 9:30 am. He will also be speaking to Spanish students of his classmate Philip Doig ' 81.

Pioneers of St. Stephen's Episcopal School


Panelists include Octavia Smith, widow of Ted Smith, our first African American teacher, George Emery '65, one of the first two African American day students to attend our school, and Gregory Hicks '68, our first African American boarding student. The panel was moderated by long-time History teacher, Kathryn Respess, who also added her perspective and shared her experiences during this time of integration. The St. Stephen's Parent & Alumni Book Group was fortunate to have a visit from acclaimed author Sarah Bird on Wednesday, March 25th. About 30 members enjoyed a catered luncheon by Fete Accompli.

St. Stephen's Episcopal School, Breakthrough Austin, and the Emerging Scholars Fund, founded by Carolyn and Jack Long, launch partnership to aid low-income, first-generation college-bound students.

Remember
the Yurt!


Ever heard of the yurt? A yurt is a portable, wood-framed dwelling used by nomads in Central Asia. Students built a yurt in the 1970s on campus in front of the present Brewster Memorial.
