St. Stephen's Provides Rigorous Academic Preparation

St. Stephen's students tend to be adventuresome and individualistic. This independent thinking makes the college counseling process at St. Stephen's an exciting journey for all involved.

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. selected 28 St. Stephen's students in the competition for Merit awards. The Spartans were among 16,000 Semifinalists selected from more than 1.3 million competitors.

The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than 1 percent of high school seniors.

Spartan All Stars: School Nights at the Observatory

Does your school have an observatory? Would you like to stargaze in the campus observatory? The St. Stephen's Observatory features the largest refracting telescope in Central Texas.

St. Stephen's was Founded on the Principles of Diversity

Nearly one-fourth of our students have African, Hispanic, or Asian backgrounds. For several years, nearly a third of the graduating seniors have been students of color. We were the first integrated boarding school in the South.

Active Boarding and International Programs

We have a very active and visible boarding program for international students with 70 students from more than 20 countries. International program director Sarah Todd recruits internationally and advises students on study-abroad opportunities.

Boarding life at St. Stephen's is a constant adventure. Guided and supported by a Houseleader and a team of House Parents, boarding students learn to manage their time between meals, classes, studying, sports and activities. Would you like to know what it's like in the "Day in the Life" of two proctors?

Summer Community Service Programs

St. Stephen's emphasizes community service in the development and education of its students.

St. Stephen's students travel during school breaks to perform community service, learn about other cultures, and experience valuable life lessons.
