St. Stephen's Episcopal School Vision Statement St. Stephen’s Episcopal School graduates possess sharp minds, great and humble hearts, and strong spirits. To this end, the school will retain and attract a faculty of truly exceptional educators, supported by a sustainable financial and physical environment. Adopted 8-2008 Vision Statement word definitions: "Sharp minds” - They will be well prepared for college and life by a challenging program of academic study and a focus on wellness and development of the body through traditional and non-traditional athletic programs “Great and humble hearts” - They will demonstrate respect and compassion for one another and for the larger community “Strong spirits” - In the environment of SSES, grounded as it is in the Episcopal tradition, students will be led to personally engage life’s largest questions from the perspective of their own faith and belief systems “Truly exceptional educators” - Faculty that offer both great teaching as well as caring relationships with our students. Faculty with a commitment to life-long learning and self improvement “Sustainable financial environment” - The cost of educating SSES students will be increasingly affordable to a broad and diverse community of students and the school’s endowment will grow proportionately to make this possible “Sustainable physical environment” - School support facilities will be improved, but in a cost-effective and sustainable way, preserving the natural beauty of the campus and surrounding environment as buildings are upgraded and replaced |
